IRI July 9, 2019 0 Comments

17 categories will be contested at this year’s awards based on topics such as innovative air conditioning, low carbon breakthroughs and contractors of the year

The shortlist for the 2019 RAC Cooling Industry Awards has been unveiled with face to face judging set to commence in the coming weeks.

The eventual winners, as well entries deemed by our expert judges to be ‘highly commended’, will be unveiled at the Cooling Awards event that will be taking place at the London Hilton on Park Lane on September 25.

A total of 17 categories will be contested at the awards. The prizes will include several accolades for innovations in air conditioning technology and systems, as well as contractors of the year, and refrigeration product of the year.

We will also be judging the ‘Diversity Impact Award’ that will look at a range of initiatives from organisations such as industry bodies and retailers to encourage more women and ethnic minorities to bring their skills and expertise to the industry.

Another important focus of the awards will be efforts to address environmental concerns and address the UK’s recent commitments for much stricter eco-targets that aim to eliminate carbon emissions entirely over the next 31 years. Categories include, ‘Building Energy Project of the Year’, ‘Environmental Collaboration of the Year’ and a prize for Low Carbon Achievement.

Alongside these awards, RAC Magazine is once again proud to be partnering with the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR) to hold the Student of the Year award that will be unveiled at a special ceremony before the main event.

The night will also see the Fred Jamieson Award for Industry Achievement being handed to its next worthy candidate. The full shortlist can be viewed here.

Good luck to all those shortlisted.
